Dead Animals!

What is it about dead birds that have been run-over like 50 times that is so interesting that you (I) have to stop and stare for a minute? I mean, I'm not talking about average roadkill (squirrels, opossums, etc.), they all look different. Birds that have been runover don't look squashed like other animals. They just look like 2-dimensional versions of their formerly 3-dimensional selves. It's as if they're trapped in glass like the bad guys in "superman." When one walks the same path back-and-forth over-and-over again, sometimes multiple times a day, and there happens to be a dead tweeter on the road, one sees the same corpse many times before the corpse becomes a bad song by 'Kansas.' I asked if he wanted to come over and hang out; maybe have a beer. He just laid there. I guess he's kinda shy or something. I can't wrap my brain around this. Someone help me understand ........
